CHANGING HORIZONS

The paintings I do have evolved from earlier projects inspired by places that have given me the freedom to experiment with composition, colour, structure and form.

My current paintings are on sets of canvas and panel. The triptych format and the use of composite images has been helped and sustained by my interest in painters from the early Renaissance through to the drama in Francis Bacon’s work.

I think there is a strong conceptual basis to my painting because since leaving the Slade School of Art I have worked through ideas relating to my interpretation of real things and stimulating locations.

"People and places challenge me... art is inspiring... I  produce work for myself and for other people's enjoyment."
